Adam Hills has achieved international acclaim as one of the world’s best stand up comics. His combination of positive uplifting comedy and rampant spontaneity have seen him receive a swag of awards, glowing reviews and a legion of fans around the planet.

Adam’s solo shows are established highlights at the Adelaide Fringe, the Melbourne Comedy Festival, and the Edinburgh Fringe – where he regularly sells over 10,000 tickets in the month. He is the only Australian comedian to have performed at the US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, and is a regular star of the Cat Laughs Kilkenny Comedy Festival in Ireland, and The Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal.

Adam’s 2001, 2002 and 2003 shows were all nominated for the prestigious Perrier Award at the Edinburgh Festival. His 2002 show, Happy Feet, took out the inaugural Best Of The Fest Award in Edinburgh, and his follow up show Cut Loose won the Radio Forth Award for Best Comedy. Adam has also won a Chortle Award for Best Compere in the UK, and his 2007 show Joymonger won a Helpmann Award for Best Comedy Performance in Australia.

In Australia, Adam is also known as the host of the wildly successful music quiz show Spicks and Specks on ABC-TV, alongside team captains Alan Brough and Myf Warhurst. With viewing figures of over 1.2 million people a week, the show has received numerous AFI and Logie Award nominations, while Adam has been nominated for no less than four Logie Awards – including the coveted Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality – and won GQ Magazine’s TV Personality of the Year Award in 2007.

In 2007/08, Adam, Alan and Myf took The Spicks and Speck-tacular stage show on a live tour of Australia, performing to over 75,000 fans, and even appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. The same year, Adam notched up another career highlight as he hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Paralympic Games, in a broadcast screened throughout Australia, South Africa and Hong Kong.

Adam’s UK TV appearances include Mock The Week, The Charlotte Church Show and Never Mind The Buzzcocks, as well as having his own half-hour special on The Paramount Comedy Channel. He hosted two series of Four At The Store for BBC Radio 4, and co-presented We Say Tomay-to on Radio 2.

Adam has contributed articles to Subaru Magazine, Inside Cricket, and was a regular contributor to BBC’s Ouch! Website. He has also acted on stage in Die On Your Feet at the 2005 Melbourne Comedy Festival, and played the title role in Breaker Morant at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2007.

Alistair McGowan is a cherished household name, a master impressionist, a stand-up comic, an actor, a pianist, a writer of sketches, articles, stage and radio plays but is still probably best known to British audiences for ‘The Big Impression’ which was, for four years, one of BBC1′s top-rating comedy programmes – winning numerous awards, including a BAFTA. In 2017 Sony Classical released ’Alistair McGowan; The Piano Album’ which went to Number One in The Official Classical Charts and no 2 in the Classic FM chart and was John Brunning’s Album of The Week. Bobby Davro is one of the country’s favourite comedians and is known for his brilliant impressions. In 2010, he took part in Dancing on Ice. He has appeared on a variety of TV shows, including Eastenders and Come Dine with Me. In 2003, he was one of the contestants in the Channel 4 reality TV show The Games, following his father’s footsteps, who was a world record holder and who represented Great Britain in two Olympic Games.

Bobby Davro made an early impression at school – he was caught mimicking his headmaster, a Harold Wilson sound-a-like, and was given six of the best! His major breakthrough came with an appearance on Live From Her Majesty’s in 1983.

This led to his Saturday night series Bobby Davro on the Box which immediately topped the ratings for six consecutive years. In 1991 he moved to the BBC and made three series, Public Enemy Number One, Rock with Laughter and Run The Risk. He returned to our screens as host of Yorkshire Television’s Winner Takes All for 65 programmes. Beyond showbiz, he’s also been very successful as a property developer.

Versatility is the key to Bobby’s longevity, as a high profile personality. Be it in Television, Pantomime, Corporate Events and Awards Presentations.

He famously made his name as co-writer and star of Phoenix Nights, alongside Peter Kay. As Jerry St Clair, ‘the compere without compare,’ he built a huge following. He then earned his panellist stripes on Channel 4′s 8 out of 10 Cats. Internationally, he has recently returned from a second highly acclaimed sell out week in Hong Kong. Dave has many TV appearances to his name as stand-up comedian, game show presenter – hosted ITV’s popular game show Chain Letters – and actor.

Originally an NHS haematologist, Dave eventually realised he could make a living as a stand-up. After winning a regional Comedian of the Year contest, he was offered a residency on Granada’s What’s New? He went on to support Jack Dee, Eddie Izzard, Lee Evans and Jo Brand before becoming a headliner in his own right. Aside from performing, his writing credits include Dead Man Weds, in which he co-starred with Johnny Vegas.

Dave’s stand-up career began in 1992 after many years writing routines and sketches for other comedians, TV and radio. He was 50% of the legendary double act ‘Spikey and Sykey’ who’s most notable success was on Central TV’s New Faces. Since that fateful day, Dave has spent the intervening years developing a variety of top class sets to cater for every audience.

After a handful of guest appearances on Never Mind the Buzzcocks David returned to the show as guest host in November 2010. His other recent television appearances include 8 Out of 10 Cats, Have I Got News For You and Dave’s One Night Stand.

David has cemented his reputation as one of the most consistently funny performers at the Fringe with a string of sellout shows. In August 2011 he brought two shows, David O’Doherty is Looking Up and a character piece, David O’Doherty Presents: Rory Sheridan’s Tales of The Antarctica.

David first stepped on stage at Dublin’s Comedy Cellar in 1998. In 1999 he won the Channel 4’s So You Think You’re Funny award for new comedians and was runner-up in the BBC New Comedy Awards.

His first full show The Story of the Boy Who Saved Comedy was performed at The Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2000 and received a nomination for Perrier Best Newcomer. He has returned to the festival several times, his 2006 show David O’Doherty is My Name garnering a nomination for best show. In 2006 he recorded his first CD Giggle Me Timbers (or Jokes Ahoy!) at home in his flat in front of 35 people. His first television series The Modest Adventures of David O’Doherty was transmitted on RTE in Ireland in 2007.

David has written widely for newspapers and magazines, published a book for children (Ronan Long Gets it Wrong), written a play (Saddled) with Bryan Quinn – the world’s first theatrical production to feature live repair of audience members’ bicycles, and a radio series about bee detectives with his brother Mark (The Bees of Manulla).

David has performed around the world at festivals in Melbourne, Montreal, New York, Prague, Adelaide, Iceland and Wellington.

Doc Brown on Television and Film

Since moving into the world of Comedy, Doc Brown has taken on various roles in front of and behind the camera in both Film and Television. As an actor he has played roles in the acclaimed BBC series “Rev” and “Miranda”, as well as Channel 4’s ”The Inbetweeners”. Smith also provided voices for the characters Budge and Koggs on the cult CBBC series “Big Babies” for which he also sang the theme tune.

In Film he has played a role in Ben Miller’s “Huge” as well as a co-starring role in the thriller “Other Side of the Game”. Smith is also credited as a songwriter on the Joe Cornish-directed film Attack the Block. The character “Hi Hatz” is often seen and heard playing songs he has recorded. These were written and recorded by Smith and re-voiced by the actor Jumayn Hunter.

Doc Brown is currently shooting a 13 part teen comedy-drama for the BBC called “The Four O’clock Club”, on which Doc Brown is the co-creator, co writer, co-star and musical director. Smith runs his own production company named Bust-A-Gut Ltd, which- whilst focusing on television and film- has also re-released the back catalogue of his music.

Smith is married with two children and is the younger brother of novelist and essayist Zadie Smith. He also has a younger brother Luke who is a professional rapper performing under the name Luc Skyz.

Dominic’s material is what sets him apart, inoffensive and totally accessible to all, relying heavily on acute observations on all our lives. His material, combined with a very personable stage presence, always make his shows relaxing, intimate and hugely enjoyable.  He is now one of the country’s most respected comedians, playing regularly at The Comedy Store and Jongleurs and performing at theatres all over the country.

The Small World of Dominic Holland show for BBC Radio 4, broadcast in 2000, was named as one of the station’s listeners most popular comedy shows, and has recorded a new series, Holland Shorts, which was aired in July 2005 and beyong.  His acting credits include Young Persons’ Guide to Becoming a Rock Star and the film Tube Tales, directed by Armando Iannucci.  He is currently filming Rob Brydon’s Annually Retentive for BBC3.

More recently Dominic has embarked on a writing career for Harry Enfield, Lenny Henry and Bob Monkhouse, On the Spot, BBC Radio 2’s What If sketch show and the BBC Clive Anderson series in which he also appeared, giving a comedic slant to the weeks news topics.

His first novel, Only In America, was published in 2002 to excellent reviews, and his follow-up, The Ripple Effect, the following year, and he’s just finishing a third, Metallic Paint.

In July 2006 Ed was given the enormous honour of hosting the 2006 Just For Laughs Festival Irish Gala at the St Denis Theatre in Montreal. His 2006 Edinburgh show–Standing Up and Falling Down– was the biggest-selling comedy show at the Fringe Festival that year. He followed this with a promotional tour for his stand-up DVD, Pedantic and Whimsical (Warner Vision).

February 2007 saw Ed perform a hugely successful residency with Standing Up and Falling Down at Riverside Studios, London. In April and May he took the show to comedy festivals in Australia and New Zealand where he played to capacity audiences.

In 2008 Ed performed in Bermuda, Montreal, Rome, France, Switzerland, and Ireland, before wowing audiences and critics alike with a full run at the Edinburgh Fringe with his latest show Different Class. He went on to a five-week residency at the Riverside Studios in London, a highly successful run at the West End’s Vaudeville Theatre, and is currently touring the UK.

Fred MacAulay presents MacAulay & Co, the weekday morning show on BBC Radio Scotland. He also regularly appears on Have I Got News For You, Mock the Week and QI.

After a decade working as an accountant, Fred took the plunge and is now one of the most popular stand-ups on the circuit. He was in fact the first ever Scottish compere at The Comedy Store in London. His gentle sarcasm and intelligent, wry observations entertain audiences both north and south of the border.

A firm festival favourite, Fred has appeared from the Edinburgh Fringe to Melbourne’s top comedy club, The Last Laugh, and a sell-out appearances at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival.

A consummate host, Fred presented the first series of The 11 O’Clock Show and co-hosted the sports chat show McCoist & MacAulay. He continues to front Scottish TV’s Fred MacAulay’s Fringe from the Edinburgh Festival.

Fred is a Radio 4 regular, appearing on everything from Just a Minute and The News Quiz to The Unbelievable Truth. In the cause of charity, he also displayed his questionable vocal talents on Comic Relief does Fame Academy.

Fred has also successfully featured and presented many programmes for BBC Scotland. He co-hosted the very popular travelling chat show McCoist & MacAulay (1998/1999) which was broadcast throughout the UK, also Life According To Fred (1999/2000), Hoots (2000), and Simply Fred (2000).

Firmly disproving the myth that accountants are a humourless bunch, this former number-cruncher has a calculated wit – always intelligent, but never overly taxing. Irrespective of whether an audience is divided between young and old, alternative or mainstream, the broad appeal of Fred MacAulay always adds up to a side-splitting night out.
