Bethany Black

Bethany Black is the outsider’s outsider, a taboo breaking story teller dealing with subjects other comics other wince at with a lightness of tough and a cheeky chatty style that makes it all surprisingly accessible this Goth, lesbian, trans comedian is nothing short of utterly unique.

Bethany Black has performed two Edinburgh shows and has a third one in the pipeline, her debut show “Beth Becomes Her” dealt candidly with her transition from male to female and gained several rave reviews.  A confessional tone she continued with her second show “Love and A Colt 45” which dealt with her battle with alcoholism and drug addiction and new found sobriety.  Three years on she’s returning to Edinburgh with a new hour show called “Insecurity Guard”.

As her career grew in 2005 when she opened the Manchester Pride festival. She supported many popular acts such as Mick Miller and got great reviews from critics, encouraging her progression as a comedian. Touching on very real and often incorporating the ‘shock factor’, Beth is a unique act guaranteed to make your event unforgettable. So if you’re looking for something different, an alternative and fresh approach to comedy, then consider hiring the acclaimed Bethany for your private or corporate events.
